Why
order this DVD?
Besides the intriguing stories, humorous tales and dramatic conclusions,
this DVD compilation shows side by side, how digital filmmaking stacks
up against film. Using very inexpensive means, Bill Johns manages
to make his digital movies rival the look and feel of motion picture
film. There are also scenes from the feature length film, PsyClone,
with both DV footage and 35mm footage as well as behind the scenes
footage from the award winning short film, We Have Your Daughter...
Oh, and it's only ten bucks!

WE
HAVE YOUR DAUGHTER
This film was shot and edited within three weeks and won Best
Action Short Film at the 2002 New York International Independent
Film & Video Festival in Las Vegas. It screened in Los Angeles
and New York City as well and was aired on Adelphia Cable in the
summer of 2003. It’s inspired the writing of a feature length
script entitled, “The Reunion” which is now in pre-production.

TOO
GOOD TO BE TRUE
This project began when a Director in New Jersey wanted me to
DP his Vampire movie and assumed that on such an ultra low budget,
we wouldn't be able to have any cool FX. I said, "Not necessarily..."
and went to work on it. I originally only planned to shoot one
shot and add a special effect using Lightwave 3D, but an idea
of my own began to gel and I ended up shooting an eight minute
short. The idea continues to ferment and will soon result in
a feature length screenplay.

THE ILLEGITIMATE SON OF
DR. JEKYL
Originally filmed in 1974, this was only my third attempt at filmmaking,
having shot two other short films while still in High School.
It continues to get favorable reviews on Kevin Spacey's TriggerStreet.com
website and reminds me how much I love making movies. The version
on this DVD was transferred to MiniDV with a CanonXL1 and then
given the sepia tone look. The flicker and scratches are genuine,
as was my hair.

THE
LAST STRAW
Originally produced as an entry into Miramax’s Project Greenlight
contest, this short is the most recent addition to this DVD
compilation and shows the possibilities in creating film aesthetics
with digital media. The contest only allowed a three minute
scene to be entered, but this DVD contains the complete six
minute story about a woman who’s had it and reaches her Last
Straw. 6

PSYCLONE
- A TWISTED TALE
This film began production on MiniDV, then graduated to 35mm when
several investors saw the potential of the project. However the
project stalled before the bulk of the financing could be secured
and we were only able to shoot for two days in 35mm. The footage
on this DVD shows that visually, we can achieve the same high
quality work as our Hollywood counterparts, but at 1/6 the cost.
It still awaits financing... (or for someone to truly clone a
human) 16
